The campus of SJR Public School (SJRPS) is spread over 1.5 acres in a remarkable location of the Hennur –Bellary Road area of Bangalore. It is rich with greenery and has superior facilities for classroom-based learning as well as extracurricular and co-curricular activities. And the educators are professionally trained to provide the right care for each student and prepare them into bright and brave citizens of tomorrow.

Besides having the latest infrastructure like an audio-visual room and well-equipped Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Maths Lab, Library, Music and Computer Room, Sports, SUPW Rooms, we also provide lockers in school to reduce the burden of books for students. As a move towards the progress we would be probably starting with the Senior Secondary Classes (11th &12th standard) soon.

Library

The word Library is rich in tradition, meaning and usage. Throughout the world the library of a school is considered as a part and parcel of the academic set-up. The school library provides information, inculcates ideas and develops knowledge that is so essential to function successfully in today’s information and knowledge based society.

To cater to the wide varieties of demands of students and teacher, our school follows certain methodologies to encourage better use of the library. We follow VAK( Visual, Audio and kinesthetic) concept of teaching.

Audio Visual learning is accomplished by the following ways:
1. “Meet the Author” sessions are conducted wherein contemporary writers are being invited for discussion about their books.
2. Playing educational CD’s pertaining to the syllabus and to create sensory aware in children, films like “Komal” are played.
3. Children are asked to write stories of their own with pictorial representation.
4. Smart class facility provided by Tata edge is supportive to library by catering and providing kinesthetic, visual and auditory skills in children.
5. As a part of Book Donation Drive students are encouraged to share their book to class. And maintain class Library which are used in their free periods.

Linguistic Learning :
1. We have a good collection of Maps, Charts, Overhead Projector and Educations CD’s.
2. Emphasis is given to study of classics, autobiographic, Biographic, Travelogues, Essays, Friction and Poetry
3. Dictionaries (all subjects), Encyclopedias, Yearbook, Children Magazines and other reference books are available.
4. Students are asked to write ‘’ Book Reviews” which are displayed on the library Notice Board.
5. “Readers Club” is established to promote Internet in books and reading.
6. Under ‘Joys of reading’ children read about the book in the morning assembly that they have read in the Library.
Kinesthetic Learning :
1. Story narrations by children with creative demonstration for primary classes are followed.
2. Holiday assignment is given during the long summer vacation for which libraries are opened on all working days.
3. They are encouraged to prepare attractive Book Marks and Book Covers to beautify the library.

Transport

The School provides transport for students staying in various parts of the city. The transportation is provided by SRS travels. The Driver and attender are well trained in safe handling of the students.
